Are pumps covered by insurance?

Lymphedema and Venous devices are covered by Medicare and most private insurances. Our representatives work directly with your insurance provider and healthcare team to process your order.

Who determines the pressure on the pump?

Pressure settings are determined by your healthcare provider and suggested protocols. Contact your local BioTAB representative for assistance with pressure adjustments.

How long do I use the pump?

Recommended use is 1-2 hours daily. However, your physician or lymphedema therapist may help to determine length-of-use.

Can I use the pump while being pregnant?

Pneumatic Compression Devices are safe to use while pregnant. Please consult with your healthcare provider and follow suggested protocols in the user handbook.

Can I use the pump with an open wound or ulcer?

Yes, our pneumatic compression devices are clinically proven to promote wound healing. It is important that wounds be covered with appropriate dressing while using the pump, and dressings be changed immediately after treatment. Do not use the pump while showing signs of untreated infection/cellulitis.

What is manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)?

MLD is a massage technique mainly used to reduce edemas and inflammation. The goals of MLD are to open lymphatic channels to increase lymphatic flow and allow reabsorption of the accumulated fluid. Our pneumatic compression devices are expertly designed to deliver the benefits of MLD without leaving your home.
